I started drumming at about ten years old, but I had a strong love for music long before that. Throughout my school years I performed with the orchestra, choir, and marching band. So when I got to high school I started forming my own bands with friends, family, and anyone I could find that was playing music. (including a couple of my teachers) During those years I also began to study the guitar and bass with great fondness. Then in college I spent hours at the piano both for required piano skills, and as a composition major it became the greatest tool. Now I’ve been drumming professionally for over 15 years. I’ve had the opportunity to play drums and percussion for some great bands, with styles ranging from Pop and Jazz, to Reggae and Heavy Metal, with many others in between.
Currently, and since 2005, I’ve been providing Stockton and the surrounding area with Private Music Lessons. I teach Piano, Guitar, Drums, Bass, and Voice, and I love every day of it. In fact, I need to mention that I’m very thankful to all my students. They’ve helped me to learn and appreciate more about music then I ever had before.
“For I pretend to teach them, but really, it is they, who pretend to teach me” (:
In college I majored in music and minored in psychology. I studied at Stanislaus state, UOP, and SJDC where I had the fortune of learning music theory and composition under the great Max Simoncic. I’ve performed with many of the university ensembles such as Concert Band, Jazz Band, Symphonic band, Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Choir, Guitar Ensemble, and Marching Band.
Aside from music lessons I enjoy composing in many styles and performing both locally and on the road. I’m always playing with a band or two, so watch the events page to see when and where. I also spend much of my time writing non-fiction. I’m currently publishing instrument instruction books for aspiring musicians, and Course curriculum books for music teachers.
Well, that’s about it. Thanks for reading, if there’s anything I can do for you, don’t hesitate to ask. (:

I’ve been teaching Piano, Guitar, Drums, Bass, and Voice lessons since 2006, and since 1999 I’ve played with numerous bands, as a percussionist, in styles ranging from Rock and Pop, to Funk, Latin, Reggae, and Jazz. In college I majored in music and minored in psychology, While performing with many of the university ensembles such as Concert Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Choir, Guitar Ensemble, and Marching Band. Throughout my 12 years of teaching I’ve had the great privilege of watching many of my students go on to start their own music careers. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a very large volume of students. In fact, by my tenth year I had reached over 20,000 music lessons taught, and by July 2019 I will be passed 25k lessons. Through all that experience I’ve created my own curriculum, course syllabus, music tests, and have published a lesson instruction book, with over 500 copies sold. I am currently working on publishing a piano instruction book, and a music teacher training manual. Performing and composing are two things I love, but the last twelve years have shown me that teaching music is definitely my true passion, and I look forward to teaching and learning more about music every day.
